Political Family Ties

My Dad, Paul "Butch" Goode, Jr. introducing Hubert Humphrey running for President of the United States in 1968 in Pineville West Virginia.
(A bit a trivia- the young man on the far right was then a member of House of Delegates and running for Secretary of State, today he serves  W.Va. in the U.S. Senate,  Mr. Jay Rockefellar)

My Grandfather,  Paul "Papa" Goode, was the Sheriff in Wyoming County W.Va for the last 12 years of his life.

A great man, a political genius and loved by all who had the privilege to know him.   My Dad, Paul “Butch” Goode, District Attorney for the last 21- years of his life.

A Tribute to our 40th President,  Ronald Reagan

June 9th, 2004, a once in a life time opportunity, a way to pay our respects, be a part of history, and most importantly, remember an American icon.  Some friends and I drove to Washington, D.C., for the funeral of President Ronald Reagan.

Here, the caisson (the same one that carried Presidents Lincoln and Kennedy) approaches and passes on Constitution Avenue.

The caisson approaches the U.S. capitol.

Good friend and Beech High School history teacher Jeff Yawn and I viewing President Reagan's funeral procession.
